Assessment Terms and Conditions

The following applies to assessments booked with Toucan for any of our testing services, including, but not limited to – dyslexia tests, dyspraxia tests, occupational therapy assessments, physio assessments and speech and language assessments. If there are additional or different terms applicable, these will be communicated to you at the time of booking.

Booking an assessment

  • The date for an assessment is provisional only, and is not confirmed until either a deposit has been paid or the full amount.
  • Any balance due will be required before the assessment date*.
  • In order to book the assessment your personal information and the information contained within the questionnaire will be passed onto the assessor in order for them to carry out the assessment.

*With the exception where a 4 part payment by Direct Debit is being used and the subsequent payments run beyond the booked assessment date.

Privacy policy

  • Toucan is committed to protecting the privacy of individuals. Accordingly, all personal data collected will be subject to our Privacy Policy.
  • Your final assessment report and associated papers will be held by the Toucan for 7 years. During this time you will be able to ask for an electronic copy of the report – please note there may be an administration charge for this. We would therefore strongly recommend that you keep a copy of your report securely. After this time Toucan will not be able to supply you with a copy of your report.
  • Should you require a copy of your assessment report, your report to be permanently deleted; or for changes/corrections made to it before this time; or to make a complaint, please notify us at:

Cancellation policy

Cancellation by the client or main contact
  • All changes and cancellations must be notified in writing to:
  • Cancellation charges are as follows:
    • Cancellation within 14 days of a booked assessment: 50% of fee
    • Cancellation with 48 hours of a booked assessment: 100% of fee
Cancellation by Toucan
  • In the event that severe weather or any other emergency or unexpected occurrence results in the cancellation of a session, Toucan will endeavour to give clients a minimum of 24 hours’ notice* and to reschedule the assessment

*It is the client’s responsibility to provide Toucan with an emergency contact number at which they will normally be available.
